Paris. Aleppo. Orlando. London. Munich. And now… Manchester.
Sadly, these are just a few recent examples where the world has stood together in solidarity during the aftermath of a premediated & atrocious act designed with one purpose in mind; to divide us.
But they won’t succeed.
Why?
Because there is enough good people in our world to prevent evil like this from succeeding.
But how can we be sure of this?
For us, it’s the small acts of kindness, as well as the unprecedented, that makes it clear that we can overcome such acts of barbarity.
The sheer amount of ‘good’ is hidden in plain sight every day, and is there to be seen in everyone’s lives.
Of course, our larger acts of kindness should always be given the credit that they deserve, but perhaps we should be more appreciative of the smaller things…
We’re talking about anytime you give a colleague a compliment, or anytime a person gives up their seat on the train for someone who needs it, or even when someone makes their colleagues a cup of tea - they do so because they want to make that moment in time a little bit better than they were expecting it to be.
These selfless acts are what brings us together and help define us as a society; an empathetic society that cares about everyone, not just themselves.
Whatever your profession, be it a pilot, a quantity surveyor, a teacher, a nurse, or a business person, we are all united by one goal – to be better people.
And therefore… we shall not be moved.
