Are you aware of mental health?

When you lead a busy life, when you’re always in a hurry, when you have many things to do in a day, it can be a tough balancing act.  This can harm both our physical health and our mental health.

Yet mental health can slip through the net, it simply doesn’t carry the warning signs that our physical health does.  Our emphasis focuses unfairly on our physical health when our mental health can be just as harmful.  With the Mental Health Foundation reporting in 2016 that one in five adults have considered taking their own life at some point, this is an imbalance that must be addressed.

Prince William has so aptly said, “No more stiff upper lip about mental health”… so in that spirit we have taken this opportunity to help break down the barriers around mental health. We will be publishing an array of blogs to coincide with Mental Health Awareness week, highlighting a variety of mental health issues throughout, as we join the fight to raise awareness.

Opening up to mental health is key to the battle against the stigma that surrounds it.  Talking can encourage people to make use of the existing treatments.  Speaking may give someone the courage to reach out to a friend. Listening may just help convince someone they’re not alone.

The smallest of actions could mean more than you think.

We’d love to hear from you.
